Ty Burrell, the Emmy award winning actor for the hit show 'Modern Family' will join Disney's sequel to the 2011 film 'The Muppets'. Christoph Waltz had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict, so Burrell will now play the role of an Interpol inspector along side all our Muppet friends. Look as the gang is moving over to Europe for the sequel.
The Muppets grossed $158 million worldwide and relaunched a movie franchise for the studio. It starred and was co-written by Jason Segel, but he is not returning for the sequel. Director James Bobin how ever is returning and will start shooting this winter in London.
As a huge Modern Family fan, Ty Burrell is a great pick for a Muppet movie. He fits right in with that Jim Henson spirit. But along with him I see a bunch of big name cameos including the Sesame Street Muppets and Mr. Frank Oz. I was really glad the franchise was successfully rebooted by Disney. So let's hope the sequel is as successful.
